A space for women to connect in the outdoors and empower one another.

Womeness in the Wilderness is held quarterly as a way to encourage women to enjoy the outdoors and connect with other women in the area. Location and experience change. If you are interested in hosting or leading a Womeness in the Wilderness event, please reach out to [email protected] to inquire.

Location: Bear Basin Trailhead (Look for the bright colors worn by Womeness!)

Directions: Take Hwy 55 north toward New Meadows and about 2 miles out of McCall look for a right hand turn, marked with the Bear Basin trailhead sign. We’ll meet in the parking lot at the trailhead.

Join us Saturday, January 27th for a snowshoeing adventure in the beautiful town of McCall, Idaho! Strap on your snowshoes and get ready to explore the stunning Payette National Forest. Whether you’re a seasoned snowshoer or a beginner, this event is perfect for all skill levels. Bring your friends, family, or come as you are and be a part of our community. We will meet at Bear Basin Trailhead parking lot and start our walk together promptly at 1:30 pm.

In McCall, ID:

– McCall Sports – https://mccallsports.com/rentals/ – $15/day, $20/24 hours;

– Hometown Sports McCall – http://hometownsportsmccall.com/winter-rentals/ – $15/day,$12/half day, $6/hour

In Boise, ID:

– McU Sports – https://mcusports.com/reserve-equipment/ – $15/day, $12/each additional day.

(Cost to rent snowshoes is separate from any donations through Eventbrite, all donations via Eventbrite go directly towards the operations of Womeness.) Thank you!

Join us as we spend time outside, connecting with women in the community. Womeness adheres to the conditions of the trails and will communicate via email and social media with any updates.

We welcome and celebrate all bodies and abilities. Come as you are, be welcomed as you are, feel empowered as you are.

Womeness In the Wilderness is a financially inclusive series, meaning cost is free with option to donate. All donations go directly towards the operations of Womeness Community to continue to put on events and create accessible content to empower women.

What to bring:

– Comfortable clothes you can move in

– Warm weather layers and gear (gloves, hat, scarf, etc.)

– Snowshoes and trekking poles (optional)

– Water (hydration)

– Sunglasses/ Sunscreen

– Bags to help clean up trail should you choose

Parking:

Parking is located at the trailhead.During the winter months, the Forest Service requests a $5 fee to maintain the trails. We encourage carpooling and allowing extra time for parking.
