Join us Saturday, August 13th for a three-hour adventure fill with fun and playful rapids, perfect for everyone– first timers, groups, and tours. Located on the Payette River in the Boise National Forest, the Main Payette is a local favorite. The class III rapids are full of splashes but are easily navigable by our professional, licensed, enthusiastic river guides. There are also opportunities to swim and ride on the front of the raft. Young and old, beginners and veterans alike enjoy splashing, sunning and whitewater fun on this friendly class II-III river trip.
We will meet at Cascade Raft River Center at 9:15 am. It is about a 1 hour drive from the Boise Airport located at 7050 Highway 55, Horseshoe Bend, ID. (Carpooling is encouraged to assist with parking).
What to wear:
Clothes you don’t mind getting wet – swimsuit, nylon shorts, t-shirt, and river sandals or tennis shoes you can get wet. Except in the heat of summer, it is best to avoid wearing cotton clothing. For trips with cold water or in cooler weather, we provide wetsuits and other insulating gear at no additional cost. We have changing rooms with lockers and rest rooms at our river center, so don’t forget a change of clothes for after the trip.
What to bring:
It is usually wise to bring sunscreen and water, a hat, and perhaps a towel. If you plan to wear glasses or sunglasses, we recommend a strap to keep them on. We offer Chums glasses retainers as well as waterproof phone cases for sale in our gift shop. Anything you take with you is likely to get wet, so plan appropriately. At no time can we take glass containers or alcohol on the river.
Meeting Spot:
After checking in at the Cascade Raft River Center, we will take a quick drive upstream to put-in location at Banks, Idaho, the confluence of the North and South Forks of the Payette. Your guide staff will equip everyone with lifejackets, paddles, and safety information before you start the 8-mile trip back to our river center.

Anticipated ending time:
This is a 3 hour river trip. We should finish up at about 12:30pm
Other Important Info:
Cascade Rafting’s guide staff will equip everyone with lifejackets, paddles, and safety information before you start the 8-mile trip back to the river center. Rapids you will encounter include GLOYF (Go Left or you’re Fired), Bennett’s Rock, Mike’s Hole, Chief Parish, Mixmaster, and AMF (Adios My Friend). Expect to get wet! These rapids are rated class II and III–big, playful waves, but easily navigable by our world-class guides.
